About Naturopathic Medicine
Who is it right for?
Dr. Morton has a general practice and works with patients of all ages and conditions. He, like all Naturopathic Doctors (NDs), has a wide variety of tools and training to help nearly every condition from chronic pain, joint issues, and inflammation, to digestive complaints, hormone imbalances, stress, and sleep concerns.
What is it?
Naturopathic Medicine is a unique system of medicine that treats the whole person and aims to solve the root cause of the problem, not just treat the symptoms. NDs take a much more functional approach to your health and often go much more in depth with history taking, lab analysis, and treatments. Dr. Morton uses acupuncture and IMS (intramuscular stimulation with acu needles), regenerative injections (prolotherapy), therapeutic nutrition, functional lab assessments, herbal medicine, targeted supplementation and prescription drugs as part of a personalized treatment plan for his patients. Another important aspect of care is education and empowerment – we want our patients to know about their conditions and what they can be doing to help.
Why is it important?
Modern life has produced a society that is chronically ill – we’re tired, sore, inflamed, stressed, and poorly nourished. Naturopathic Medicine aims to resolve these issues by modifying lifestyle factors and coming up with unique treatment plans for each patient. It is therefore our goal to bring our patients back into balance in life and help them live happily and healthily.
Where can they receive these treatments?
All treatments are done at Backfit Clinic (3481 Cook St., Victoria), where Dr. Morton has his practice. For more info about treatments offered and Dr. Morton’s availability, please call the clinic at 250-477-8143.
